The Body as a Living Machine

The human body is one of the most powerful machines in the world. It is finely designed, highly coordinated, and self-regulating. Like every machine, it functions best when its internal systems are balanced and properly maintained. When sickness arises, it is often a sign that something within the machine has gone out of alignment and needs attention.

Illness is not always an enemy. In many cases, it is a signal—an indication that the body’s internal operations are strained, obstructed, or poorly supplied.

The Invisible Operators of the Body

Within this machine operate countless tiny creatures—microscopic natural elements that make life possible. These tiny beings constantly build, repair, cleanse, and defend the body. In Yorùbá metaphysical language, they are referred to as Ẹmí kékèké—the little breaths of life.

These Ẹmí kékèké are understood as loyal servants of Olódùmarè, assigned to maintain order within the human body. Their work is continuous, silent, and precise. However, their effectiveness depends entirely on the conditions under which they operate.

Input Determines Output

Every machine depends on the quality of what it is supplied with.

The water you drink,
the food you eat,
the herbs and substances you consume— all become the raw materials used by the Ẹmí kékèké to keep the body functioning.

Clean water supports flow and circulation. Natural foods provide usable energy. Herbs assist regulation and repair. When these inputs align with nature, the tiny creatures work efficiently. When the body is overloaded with toxins, artificial substances, and neglect, the system strains and imbalance appears.

Sickness as Mechanical Imbalance

From this perspective, sickness is not punishment or fate. It is mechanical imbalance—a disruption in flow, function, or maintenance. Just as a machine malfunctions when poorly fueled or neglected, the body falters when deprived of proper care.

Healing, therefore, is not about fighting the body. It is about restoring balance within the machine.

Restoration Through Nature

Nature provides what the body recognizes and can use. When the body is given the right water, foods, herbs, rest, and natural support, balance is gradually restored. As the Ẹmí kékèké regain strength and coordination, sickness loses its foundation and retreats.

Care for the body as the powerful machine it is.
Support its tiny operators.
Align its inputs with nature.

When balance returns, health follows.
