Òrìṣà are divine energies and spiritual vessels that govern different aspects of creation. They serve as intermediaries between humans and Olódùmarè. Each Òrìṣà has unique attributes, functions, and devotees—such as Ọ̀ṣun (love, rivers), Ṣàngó (justice, thunder), Ọbàtálá (wisdom, purity), and Ọ̀rúnmìlà (wisdom, destiny). It is humans who become Òrìsà.

Orí is your inner divinity—your personal destiny consciousness. It is the most powerful spiritual force guiding you. In Ifá, nothing can be done without consulting and aligning with your Orí. It is your access point to divine guidance and fulfillment.

While some can intuitively feel drawn to certain Òrìṣà, it is best to confirm your ruling or guiding Òrìṣà through an authentic Ifá initiation (Ìtẹ̀fá) conducted by a trained Babaláwo. This reveals your spiritual composition and life path.

Ifá is more than a religion. It is a spiritual science, philosophy, and cosmological system. While it can be practiced as a faith, it is fundamentally a way of life based on aligning one’s character, choices, and destiny with divine order.

Yes, many aspects of Ifá and Òrìṣà spirituality can be practiced without formal initiation. You can venerate your Orí, honor ancestors, and follow teachings. However, initiation (like Ìtẹ̀fá) opens deeper access to spiritual responsibility and destiny fulfillment.
