Self Ẹbọ: A Modern Path to Spiritual Alignment

In the sacred cosmology of the Yorùbá people, Ẹbọ is a powerful tool for restoring balance, offering sacrifice, and realigning with destiny. Traditionally, it involves ritual offerings—animals, kola nuts, palm oil, or other sacred items—to appease spiritual forces and adjust one's path. But as our world evolves, the call for accessible, intentional, and deeply personal spiritual practices grows louder.

This is why I, Ààrẹ Prof. Olusegun Daramola, have created and introduced the concept of Self Ẹbọ: a revolutionary evolution of the Ẹbọ tradition into something deeply personal, internal, and adaptable to all people—anywhere in the world. Rooted in Ifá wisdom and aligned with the soul’s inner guardians, Self Ẹbọ empowers you to offer not just things—but yourself.

What Is Self Ẹbọ?

Self Ẹbọ is the practice of offering an intentional, divinely inspired personal action as your sacrifice. It is not a ritual bound to sacred objects or complex ceremonies. It is you showing up in full awareness to transform your life—one conscious step at a time.

Unlike traditional Ẹbọ, which often requires a priest, materials, and ritual space, Self Ẹbọ is spiritually actionable by anyone and always based on revelation—especially that which comes from the Odù in divination.

In simple terms:

Self Ẹbọ is what you do with your own will, heart, behavior, and choices to realign with your Orí and fulfill your destiny.

A Concept Born from Revelation and Necessity

As the founder of World Builderr, I’ve had the privilege of guiding spiritual seekers across continents. Many are sincere in their devotion but lack access to priests or ritual systems. Yet Ifá teaches us that Orí is the ultimate, and within each person lies the capacity to act in divine alignment.

Self Ẹbọ was born from this sacred insight—a divine permission to adjust your path through simple but intentional acts, made in honor of the wisdom received from the Odù or from within.

Materials? Anything. Sometimes Only Water.

In Self Ẹbọ, we make use of many kinds of materials, but they are usually items that anyone, anywhere, can access. This includes:

* Water
* Salt
* Corn
* Millets
* Rice
* Leaves or herbs around you
* Written words
* Acts of kindness
* Daily habits

Sometimes, water alone is enough, depending on what the Odù reveals. What matters is not the material itself, but the meaning and intention behind its use cum the ASE in the materials. The Odù may instruct you to drink water silently before sunrise, write a letter you’ll never send, or bathe in the rain as a sign of release.

In all cases, Self Ẹbọ flows from divine revelation, not rigid form.

In Divination and Daily Life

In my readings and teachings, Self Ẹbọ often emerges as the prescribed act. When the Odù reveals a need for change, healing, or alignment, the individual is given a Self Ẹbọ—an actionable and personal instruction they can carry out, often immediately.

This puts the power of transformation back in the hands of the seeker, making them a co-creator of their spiritual growth.

Self Ẹbọ is the offering of awareness. It is how we say “yes” to change, even if no one else is watching. It is the sacred act of transforming one’s self as the ultimate offering to Orí and to the divine matrix of life.

As the originator of Self Ẹbọ, I offer it as a gift to humanity—a bridge between ancient Ifá wisdom and the modern seeker’s reality. Whether you are in Nigeria, Brazil, Canada, or the UK, you can perform a Self Ẹbọ today and begin realigning your path.

May you be guided by your Orí.

May your Self Ẹbọ be accepted.

May your destiny shine.
